Viola, 46, chose a strapless custom strapless white Grecian silk chiffon Marchesa gown that featured a sweetheart neckline with an antique gold embroidered detail on the bodice. She finished the look with Jimmy Choo shoes, gold Cathy Waterman jewelry and a Judith Lieber clutch.
Viola David took home the Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role honors while beating out Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton.
Viola also joined her “The Help” castmates in collecting Best Picture accolades while the night saw Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild’s 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.

The entire cast of Modern Family won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, beating the casts of 30 Rock, Glee, The Big Bang Theory and The Office.
The 2012 SAG Awards honored the best in Hollywood over the past year while also having selected Mary Tyler Moore as the recipient of the 48th Life Achievement Award.
