Rihanna in Giorgio Armani – 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards 2012

13 Feb

Rihanna walked the red carpet at the 2012 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles, California.

The We Found Love singer, 23, wore a super sexy black body-hugging silk Giorgio Armani custom floor length gown.  The jaws dropping mermaid silhouette dress featured a plunging neckline, daring high central split and dramatically open back that cascades into an elegant train.  Rihanna revealed that she had co-designed the dress with Giorgio Armani and that she’s currently working on a capsule collection for the designer.  The Michelle Pfeiffer ‘Scarface’ inspired frock was accessorized with gold Neil Lane jewelry – geometric diamond and gold triangle earrings, diamond and gold snake armlet bracelet, wide gold cuff bracelet and jazzy gold and diamond cocktail ring, a Jacquie Aiche body necklaces, gold Jimmy Choo clutch and black Christian Louboution PVC-accented heels.

The multi-nominated performer donned a sheer top on stage (in Norma Kamali) as kicked off her performance with “We Found Love” before joining Coldplay’s Chris Martin strumming an acoustic guitar for their Mylo Xyloto collaboration track “Princess of China.”

The Grammy Awards 2012 stirred up a mix of emotions on Sunday evening.  The music world took a moment to remember the loss of their ‘fallen sister’, Whitney Houston.

The annual ceremony started off on a somber note as the evening’s host, LL Cool J, asked the celebrity packed audience to acknowledge the death of the singer, Whitney Houston, that died at 48-years-old.  Rather than seeing the passing of the star as an opportunity to mourn, the Grammy Awards was a celebration of the singer’s achievements.
